CYO — Catholic Youth Organization — started in Chicago in 1930 and came to Pleasanton in 1971. Our program is open to all kids grades 3–8, regardless of faith or parish affiliation. We run basketball, track & field, and cross country.
CCOP — Catholic Community of Pleasanton — is our parish, with two campuses at St. Augustine and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. Learn more at catholicsofpleasanton.org →
We're a co-sponsor with the City of Pleasanton, work closely with PUSD for gym access, and compete in the Tri-Valley CYO League alongside Dublin, Livermore, San Ramon, and Danville — one of several East Bay leagues in the Oakland Diocese.
We teach kids to play hard and play fair — competing with intensity and respect for teammates, opponents, refs, and the game itself. Winning matters. How you win matters more.
Basketball is the vehicle, but the lessons are bigger than the sport: discipline, teamwork, leadership. Kids leave this league better players — and better humans.
And through it all, we want every kid ending the season more excited about basketball than when they arrived. That's the whole point.
When you register for CCOP CYO Basketball — as a player, family, or coach — you agree to uphold the sportsmanship standards that make this league work. CYO uses basketball to help kids learn values, build friendships, and practice respect on and off the court.
The goal is simple: make the games fun for the kids.
Everything you need to know about how the season runs — from game rules to the diocese-wide playbook.
CCOP CYO is run entirely by volunteers — Pleasanton families who've been part of the program as coaches, players, or parents, and keep showing up to make each season happen.
